Living at Carter Farm
Carter Farm Agrihood is a neighborhood where healthy living is paramount to its community oriented design and small town setting. The centrally located working farm provides direct access to local food and will support regenerative farming practices that improve local ecosystems. Walkability is a priority throughout the newly built internal street and trail networks that socially connect Carter Farm neighbors and also provide public access for existing Centreville residents. The neighborhood is also situated within a walkable, one-half mile of Centreville’s Main Street and the waterfront wharf area. A majority of the site is surrounded by a natural landscape buffer that provides views of the Corsica River watershed and access to native species of the Chesapeake Bay region.
The Agrihood will include 126 new residences, that surround the centrally located 4.5-acre working farm. Each Parcel includes shared open spaces and common areas for use by residents. The overall the site has been designed to accommodate various housing types, sizes, and lifestyles, all of which will follow design guidelines established for the neighborhood and managed by the Homeowners Association (HOA). The guidelines will set aesthetic standards and ensure that all construction will be DOE Net Zero ready, EPA Water Sense certified, DOE Indoor AirPlus certified, and the use of sustainable materials.
Homes on the site will include 80 single-family homes and 27 townhomes. A multi-family, condo building will include 16-units and three live-work, residential units are included above the neighborhood commercial buildings.
